Allyson & Scott

10 Jul

This past March we had the pleasure of hosting Allyson & Scott’s ceremony and reception at the Great Room! The couple and their families couldn’t have been more gracious and sweet. Allyson & Scott’s love for each other was palpable and it absolutely shows through in these amazing images. Big thank you to Cole & Ashley of Blest Studios for allowing us to share their work! This couple had a classic style and serious taste in cake – five different flavors from Hayes Barton Cafe & Dessertery! YUM! Also, we were so thrilled they were able to get some great sunset pictures on Franklin Street and on the TOPO patio! It truly was a beautiful, Chapel Hill wedding…

It’s probably fair to say that most wedding pros feel bias toward their couples, and Casey & Dan are no exception to this rule for the Great Room team. With classic style and hearts of gold, we felt privileged to host this couple’s wedding reception earlier this month. Their creamy white palette with pops of mercury glass and pinks made for a classically beautiful event to remember!

They rounded up an amazing group of vendors too! The gorgeous florals were done by Tre Bella Florist and the rentals were provided by American Party Rentals. The delicious and adorable cupcakes and topper were provided by Gigi’s Cupcakes of Chapel Hill. The non-stop entertainment was provided by Brian from Unlimited DJ Service. Planning & coordination was provided by Danielle Olcott of the Great Room at Top of the Hill. All of the gorgeous images below are provided by the talented A.J. Dunlap of A.J. Dunlap Photography. Cheers to this beautiful and happy couple!

TerraVITA East Meets West Dinner

16 Jan

TerraVITA_Logo_TagBack in October, the annual TerraVITA Food Festival brought together foodies from all around the country. Founded and organized by Colleen Minton, the gourmet Southern food festival lasted three days and explores wine, food, coffee, chocolate and much more!

Colleen reached out to the TOPO family to host their annual East Meets West Dinner at the Great Room – and of course we were thrilled to be asked to participate!

The meal was a collaborative effort by three North Carolina chefs with dessert provided by French Broad Chocolate Lounge and coffee by Carrboro Coffee Roasters.

Regan from Little Hen in Holly Springs, Isaiah from The Eddy in Saxapahaw and James Clark from the Carolina Inn provided all of the courses along with Lionel Vatinet provided the bread grown with organic North Carolina wheat.

Top of the Hill provided our craft beer and specialty, hand-crafted cocktails using our locally distilled spirits!

Here are some fun shots of the space and event:

Binion-White Wedding Reception

18 Oct

Kate & Dalon’s sweet spring wedding at The Great Room was beautiful!

Their reception featured pops of white, purple, lavender, pink and green florals in crackled clay containers provided by Gregg Kennedy of Brides & Bouquets.

Cinda’s Creative Cakes provided a beautiful cupcake display with an oversized cupcake for the bride & groom to cut.

We thoroughly enjoyed hosting Kate, Dalon & all of their family and friends for such a special day!

Pittsboro Pepper Festival

19 Oct

This past weekend, we had the pleasure of attending the Abundance Foundation‘s 5th Annual Pepper Festival in Pittsboro. The event featured local vendors and, naturally, delicious pepper-themed food and beverages. As a brewery, distillery, restaurant, and event space, we had the opportunity to showcase all aspects of what we represent at Top of the Hill – including our newly showcased TOPO vodka (available in ABC stores!).

“Un-Birthday Party” in The Great Room

12 Apr

Last weekend, we hosted a FABULOUS “un-birthday party” in The Great Room! Coordinator Katen Shah from Elegant Designz did a great job coordinating with multiple vendors, including (to name a few) ThemeWorks in Raleigh for furniture, DJ Rang for uplighting and music, and Favor Desserts for cupcakes. Fun continued late into the night at this fabulous party…
