Pittsboro Pepper Festival

19 Oct

This past weekend, we had the pleasure of attending the Abundance Foundation‘s 5th Annual Pepper Festival in Pittsboro. The event featured local vendors and, naturally, delicious pepper-themed food and beverages. As a brewery, distillery, restaurant, and event space, we had the opportunity to showcase all aspects of what we represent at Top of the Hill – including our newly showcased TOPO vodka (available in ABC stores!).

“Un-Birthday Party” in The Great Room

12 Apr

Last weekend, we hosted a FABULOUS “un-birthday party” in The Great Room! Coordinator Katen Shah from Elegant Designz did a great job coordinating with multiple vendors, including (to name a few) ThemeWorks in Raleigh for furniture, DJ Rang for uplighting and music, and Favor Desserts for cupcakes. Fun continued late into the night at this fabulous party…

This post is to introduce one of our newest preferred vendors–Miel Bon Bon! This Patisserie is a locally owned bakery and cafe, that has gained international acclaim! This gem is located right inside of the Carr Mill Mall, and the shop is fantastic!

Our event coordinators, Danielle & Hallie, got to do a private tasting with Bonnie Lau (owner and head chef) and they were blown away! Continue reading

Congratulations Katie and Will!

Here are pictures from Katie and Will’s  Wedding Reception at the beginning of March—the couple chose to join us for an intimate rehearsal dinner on Friday, followed by a 200+ wedding reception on Saturday—what a special weekend! Congratulations!

The Ward’s centerpieces were homemade, but take a look at how easy (but beautiful!) homemade can be! And the twinkle lights really made the centerpieces pop.  Here’s a helpful tip—when using water in centerpieces, use bottles of soda water instead of tap water to give your centerpieces a bubbling effect that will last all night!

Decorating the bar is a great way of adding details to your party.

Using small pieces around your main centerpieces, like stones or flower petals, quickly turn a table from ordinary to extraordinary! Mirrors will also add some flair to your pieces.

The couple auctioned off dates with Bride to raise money for Spina Bifida, a charity near and dear to the couple.

Here is a creative (and romantic looking) example of a gift table set-up—using the decorated cage for money envelopes is genius!

A recent trend at weddings is for couples to replace the traditional wedding cake with cupcakes!  Not only does it remove the time of cake cutting, but it offers a way for couples to really let their personalities show to each and every guest.

Personalize, personalize, personalize! Really let your “couple” status shine on the big day, by paying attention to those small details! Don’t forget some personalized napkins, and make sure to ask the bar to stock them to serve with drinks as well.

Door signs announcing your party also is a great way to let guests know they’ve arrived to your party.

Congratulations Katie and Will!
