Allyson & Scott

Allyson+Scott0397

This past March we had the pleasure of hosting Allyson & Scott’s ceremony and reception at the Great Room! The couple and their families couldn’t have been more gracious and sweet. Allyson & Scott’s love for each other was palpable and it absolutely shows through in these amazing images. Big thank you to Cole & Ashley of Blest Studios for allowing us to share their work! This couple had a classic style and serious taste in cake – five different flavors from Hayes Barton Cafe & Dessertery! YUM! Also, we were so thrilled they were able to get some great sunset pictures on Franklin Street and on the TOPO patio! It truly was a beautiful, Chapel Hill wedding…

We thoroughly enjoyed hosting Kate, Dalon & all of their family and friends for such a special day!

Langdon-Scholl Rehearsal Dinner

The Great Room at Top of the Hill had the pleasure to host Bridgette and Robert’s wedding rehearsal dinner earlier this summer. Here are some fun images we captured of their set up…

Specialty stemless, engraved wine glasses were set at each place setting.

With accents of blue, green and silver, University Florists provided beautiful centerpieces of ranunculus, iris and lilies.

Each table number highlighted a prominent moment in the couples’ relationship.

Guests were presented with a fun fact game about the bride and groom.

The Great Room provided some fun passed appetizers including potato waffle fries with homemade onion dip and vegetable & ranch shooters.

Specialty linen napkins provided by the mother of the groom helped tie together the blue, green and silver theme.

The beautiful paper products were created and provided by Indigo Envelope in Durham.

We greatly enjoyed participating in such a special occasion for Bridgette and Robert!

Pablo & Hunter’s Reception

We were so pleased to host the wedding reception of Pablo and Hunter!  The couple hosted one of the largest receptions we’ve ever done—the entire floor, including Back Bar, was dedicated to the couple’s special day!

The best part about renting our entire floor, was the ability for the couple to spread out their dancing, cocktailing, food, and much more, while still allowing their guests to enjoy the most intimate moments of their special day.

The couple chose to put their food in the Back Bar for their guests to enjoy a more casual atmosphere where they could enjoy our great food!

Even with their food in Back Bar, guests in line could watch all of the action in the Great Room–from the dancing to the couple’s first dance–through our state-of-the art camera system.  The Great Room boasts the most current technology, with a camera that can be focused anywhere in the room, and projected onto any one of our 11 TV’s around the floor. We can even make DVD’s that can capture your event from start to finish!

One of our newest preferred vendors Lynn, from Lynn’s Traditions, supplied the couple’s cake—and it was beautiful!  The part we liked best though? Lydia stays for events to cut her own cake! We think it’s great that Lydia works hard to make sure every detail about her creation is tended to.  For more information on Lydia, you can reach her at her website.

-Cheers!

Alan & Lindsay’s Reception

Recently the Great Room had the opportunity to host our largest sit-down dinner to date! Over 160 guests showed up to celebrate the marriage of Alan and Lindsay–and it couldn’t have gone any better!

The couple brought in blue goblets to add color to the table–it looked great!

The alternating colored napkins made the tables look much more interesting.  Ask us how we can help you pick out linens for your next event!

Sunlight on what turned out to be a beautiful day in Chapel Hill, contrary to the predicted forecast!

Both our large round tables and square tables were used for the seating of guests, a good idea for larger parties.

A shot of the seating offered in our Franklin Room.  The couple had rented out the entire space for their special day!

We loved the blue linens on the cocktail tables, tied off with dark blue sashes!

The Old Well cupcake-tower topper was a classic!

The couple’s alternative guest book was something never done before in our space! Alan and Lindsay asked guests to ink a thumb print on their tree and sign their names next to their print–not to worry! Wipes were on hand when guests were done inking! Wondering where the couple got this alternative guest book and their custom table numbers done? Check out emDOTzee Designs for all of your creative needs!

We love working with our preferred vendors! Event planner Sally Oakley was the couple’s day-of coordinator, and we worked closely with her to ensure every detail was just right.  Serving this dinner was easy with the detailed planning that went into coordinating guests meal choice with their place-card color– another great idea for large parties doing sit-down three-course meals!

Congratulations Alan and Lindsay!

-Cheers!
